About The Herold Building
The Herold Building was one of the first Art Deco apartment buildings in the United States. Built in 1937, it was constructed Railroad style, where rooms were connecting to each other, similar to the design of a railroad car. The old story the surrounds the uniqueness of the building is that Mr. Herold, a Navy veteran, worked with the architect to design the building to have the essence of a ship.
The Herold Building is the next renovation by the Jefferson-Werner team.
